Hello & thanks  for being here!

Nice to Meet You

Angela Dixey- Owner & Creator of Salem Design Artistry, The Salem Scholar, and Wandering WitchHats

My Story

Hey there! I'm Angela, a proud resident of historic Salem, Massachusetts, and the owner and creative mind behind Salem Design Artistry. While my career has been built around higher education, marketing, and communications, my true passion has always been creating—whether through art, design, or writing. Inspired to blend my professional expertise with my favorite hobbies, I started Salem Design Artistry in 2022 to share my creativity and bring my visions to life for others to enjoy. In addition to making handmade and digital items, I participate in local craft shows and markets where I have been fortunate enough to meet other great businesses on a similar path. Please contact for collaborations and upcoming events- I love to meet other artists and businesses and am always looking to improve my own work. There are many things to explore on this site so I thank you for being here, for your valuable time, and hope I can add some happiness to your life!

Early 30s Crisis & All the Above

If you have been following me for a while or are familiar with my work, you may have seen the above slogan or written throughout my digital designs. Early 30s Crisis is a witty TikTok handle (despite almost never using the app!) I created this to reflect the humorous nature of those of us in our early thirties, struggling to adapt to things like missing the 90s, unexplained backpain, treasuring an early bedtime and all the other things that go along with getting older. Although my business name remains Salem Design Artistry, I didn't want to give up the relatable E3C.

You've likely also seen the words "All the Above" which represents the great variety of products and services offered!

The Salem Scholar: Making Education & New Skills Affordable & Accessible

Before I launched Salem Designs Artistry, I spent over a decade immersed in the world of education. I’ve worked in higher education admissions, taught writing and communications, supported K–12 learners, and developed engaging academic content across multiple platforms. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in English with a minor in Communications, an Associate’s in Liberal Arts, and additional certifications from Harvard Extension and UC Davis in areas like teaching for learning, American politics, psychology, and content marketing.

My passion for challenges and gaining new knowledge—and for helping others feel capable and confident—led to the creation of The Salem Scholar, a growing branch of SDA offering self-guided online programs, study tools, and creative resources for adult learners. Whether you’re diving back into learning or just love picking up new skills, I’ve designed each course with care, clarity, and encouragement in mind.

Wandering WitchHats: Navigating Salem Through My View

Wandering WitchHats is more than a travel guide—it’s a piece of my heart. As someone who grew up next door in Marblehead and now calls Salem home, I wanted to share the places, stories, and seasonal moments that make this city so special to me.

Designed as both a practical guide and a whimsical keepsake, Wandering WitchHats helps visitors explore Salem with curiosity, comfort, and joy. Whether you’re here during the bustling Halloween season or on a peaceful summer afternoon, this book invites you to slow down, support local, and uncover the magic woven into every corner of this historic city.
